With the growth of the financial and tourism industries since the 1990s, Hong Kong's main-streets has been marked by distinctive neon signs, which peaked in the 2000s. But in the 2010s, the aged neon signs were removed and the government began implementing measures to improve the landscape, now, leaving only part of the past behind. However, people still conjure up images of Hong Kong with the fantastic array of neon signs. What can we do about the man-made landscape that is being lost? The first is recording and preserving.
